I am a young, hard-working communicator who has worked in various journalism and social media roles since graduating from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas in 2014.

Currently, I am the digital media associate editor for MEAT+POULTRY. I have worked at Sosland Publishing Company since 2016, covering the industry and managing the digital media/social media channels of the publication.

I have been a freelancer for The Kansas City Star and other local publications in the Kansas City area.

In 2015, I developed and wrote content for Garmin’s social media channels and blogs.

I also worked with social media and copywriting for RailWorks Corporation as a Corporate Communications Specialist starting in August 2014.

I worked with The Topeka Capital-Journal as a Statehouse Reporting Intern from January 2014 to May 2014.

In the spring of 2013 I worked as a men’s basketball beat writer for the University Daily Kansan. At the Kansan I also worked as the Sports Editor and writer for various other sports on campus including soccer and women’s basketball.

My first reporting job was for the Shawnee Dispatch from August 2010 to August 2012. I covered numerous high school sports and wrote features on interesting sports figures in the local community.

While studying at the journalism school at the University of Kansas, I gained as much knowledge about the profession as possible so I could become a valuable communicator in the changing media landscape.

I grew up in Lenexa, Kansas, as an avid sports fan. Since I was three years old I would love picking the NFL games of the week or keeping track of stats in notebooks. Before school most days you could find me at the kitchen table go through the headlines of the Kansas City Star and reading the sports columns. (I know not the normal routine of someone headed to elementary school for the day).

My goal is to find and share unique stories about interesting people and topics in an effective manner.
